Rehearsal recording

Rehearse in a 42 m² live room at Noelpulse in Vienna-Margareten while we record multitrack — so you can hear tempo, dynamics, and arrangement at home with clarity.

Band rehearsing in the live room with overheads and mobile rack.

Rehearsal rooms are loud and misleading. Rehearsal recording at Noelpulse pairs a real band setup with discreet capture: overheads, spots, and DIs without stopping the flow. Use it while songs evolve, parts get tested, or setlists firm up.

The room ties into 24 patch points for backline routing; stems can feed mixing or vocal recording afterward. Book via contact. We keep volume neighbour-friendly — see terms and conditions. Rates current as of 15 October 2026.

Workflow

  1. Planning

Line-up, volume, and track count agreed upfront so mics, DIs, and inputs are ready.

  2. Mic setup

Kick, snare, overheads, amps, and DI — roughly thirty minutes, then you play.

  3. Rehearse

You run material as usual; we roll and stop takes on your cue.

  4. Export

Multitrack WAV or session export by arrangement, usually same-day download link.

Bands and projects

Rock, pop, jazz, songwriter bands, anything with drums and electric instruments where live interaction matters. Not a substitute for meticulous album tracking, but an honest snapshot of where you are. Minimum age 16 for contracts; younger musicians need guardian arrangements discussed with us first.

Electronic-only acts without live drums may prefer hourly mixing or vocal recording instead — tell us your setup so we do not overbook mics you will not use.

The live room

About 42 m², wood floor, treated walls, daylight — space for kit, bass amp, and two guitar rigs without constant resets. Piano and covered amps are on site; bring your favourite snare or pedalboard if you like. One of 3 rooms at Noelpulse in Wien-Margareten.

The 18 m² lounge lets you break between sets without leaving the building — handy in rain or when rewriting a setlist on paper.

Recording approach

We document the rehearsal, not mix a live album on the spot. Typical: drum overheads plus spots, bass DI and amp, guitar amps, optional keys DI. Vocal bleed from singing along is expected; isolated vocals belong in vocal recording afterward.

Monitor in the control room or use headphone mixes for the drummer as needed. Levels stay moderate so dynamics remain usable later.

Bring

  • Instruments, sticks, strings, spare snare
  • Setlist with tempo notes
  • Reference if arrangement questions are open
  • Ear protection — we have some; yours is fine

Editing (tuning, timing) is outside the rehearsal rate; Mia Hofer or Lukas Berger can quote if needed.

Volume and house rules

We sit in a residential area — sustained extreme SPL is avoided. For very loud genres, talk to us first; smaller kits or electronic drums sometimes suffice to test arrangement. No alcohol in session; respectful behaviour — standard for Noelpulse GmbH.

Combine with other services

Many bands add vocals after a run-through or send stems to mixing. Podcast teams usually fit podcast production better. Overview: services, FAQ, about.

Before your first booking

Common questions: backline — basic gear is on site, bring signature tones; vocals — captured with bleed, not booth-isolated, so plan vocal recording for release tracks; files — multitrack WAV is standard, phone-friendly rough mix optional.

Returning bands often book the same four-hour block monthly to compare progress — file names include date and song so you hear whether tempo and dynamics actually tightened. Unsure about setup? Message via contact with line-up and genre; we suggest mic plans and a realistic song count for the block.

Questions & answers

Is this a finished album session?

No — it is a rehearsal capture to judge arrangement. Detailed tracking with many takes needs longer sessions, other services, or a follow-up block here.

How many songs in four hours?

With tight material, often four to eight run-throughs; new songs fewer. Quality over quantity — we can extend with extra hourly time if the block runs short.

Can we bring our amps?

Yes. House amps exist; discuss power, floor space, and volume limits beforehand via email.

Breaks in the block?

Short breaks yes, inside rehearsal time. Long meal breaks reduce effective recording time — plan realistically. The lounge offers water and a quiet corner to reset ears before the next run-through.

Difference from vocal recording?

Rehearsal recording is the whole band in the live room; vocal recording is isolated, guided vocals in the booth — often the next step.
